PostSubject: Urgent Rescue   Mon Nov 24, 2008 6:01 pm

As some of you may know we sometimes work with Customs & Excise. We got a call from from their Strike Force Team saying someone had smuggled two small tortoises in from Tunisia. They had been dealt with at the airport and they C&E needed our help to care for these two torts. From the moment the phone went down we set off to collect them. Within 38 mins we had arrived to see the most cutest little torts ever. The had been popped into a box then into a suitcase the poor mites.

They have both been weighed and they both weigh 9 grams, have given them warm baths and they are now in their warm quarentine quarters. One has eaten already the other is showing interest. Unsure of how old they are but their bellies are still very soft. The CITES team to contact us today and it looks like they will be staying will us. They are Tunisian Spur Thighs.

They are doing really well, both bright eyed and with healthy appetites.
