Garden Snake

Green garden grass snakes can be dangerous. Yes, grass

snakes, not rattlesnakes. A couple in Sweetwater ,

Texas had a lot of potted plants, and during a recent

cold spell, the wife was bringing a lot of them

indoors to protect them from a possible freeze. It

turned out that a little green garden grass snake was

hidden in one of the plants and when it had warmed up,

it slithered out and the wife saw it go under the

sofa. She let out a very loud scream.

I'm taking in a bearded dragon (yet another one!) who has no obvious heakth issues but wont feed

We have tried all the usual tricks and found he will only eat if he is sat on a rug and manages about 1 or 2 morio worms and occassionally a locust. He refuses everything else including veg and fruit.

He is big and healthy looking, has been wormed and is by no means dehydrated or female!

BEIJING - A once drug-addled elephant fed heroin-laced bananas by illegal traders will return home after emerging clean from a three-year detox program on China's tropical island province of Hainan.

The four-year-old bull elephant, referred to alternately as "Big Brother" or "Xiguang" in state media reports, was captured in 2005 in southwest China by traders who used spiked bananas to control him.

Gecko With Poor Shed

Today we got a young leopard gecko in as a rescue. The poor little thing has been seen by the vet a couple of weeks ago, according to the date on the cream that was prescribed. His right arm looks like me may lose it as he hasn't shed properly, probably for quite a few previous sheds. His owner brought him in as they can't afford the vet bill to get the arm amputated. So if there is no improvement in the next few days it's another trip to the vets.

Sorry it's not a great pic.

I have had my Leo Gecko for about a month now. He/she is about 4 months old.

Since buying it a bigger tank 2 weeks ago it has gone off crickets so yesterday I got some mealies/waxies and baby locusts to try.

I fed it 2 wax worms today on feeder tongs and was so happy it ate them but now they are dead in the tank so I think it has regurgitated them

I am very worried about it not eating now and would welcome any advice.

UK REPTILES & AMPHIBIANS IN YOUR GARDEN SURVEY

The BTO Garden Ecology Team is working with Froglife and the Herpetological Conservation Trust on a new survey to find out how reptiles and amphibians use gardens. In particular, we need people to tell us about the different habitat features within their gardens (such as ponds and compost heaps), features that might support particular reptile and amphibian species. A simple questionnaire has been produced for the survey (on special card ...

Published by: Brazilian Society of Herpetology

South American Journal of Herpetology

Rattle loss in the Isla Santa Catalina (Baja California Sur, México) rattlesnake, Crotalus catalinensis, was hypothesized to be a stealth adaptation for hunting for birds within the vegetation. Recently, however, it was shown that birds are rarely captured by C. catalinensis, while a semi-arboreal mouse is very important in its diet. It was thus suggested that ...

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something

off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away

A buddy of mine got bit by a rattle sanke. Killed the snake and took it to the hospital. He's Ok. He then made a sheath for my knife (which he also made) from the skin.

I am totally against snake "wranglers" because of their profiteering, no conservation, inhumane treating of reptiles; along with the pouring of gasoline into burrows to "hunt" for the snakes, which leaves the burrows uninhabitable.

But this is not that.

And it is pretty.

He saw the ad on RFUK and it clearly explains what the iggy is like but he has kept tegus and monitors so he knows his stuff and just ideal a 5yr old iggies is LOL. I just told him what damage an iggy can do and refused point blank. Then he said well I was looking for a bearded dragon!!!! Since when did an iggy become the same as a bearded dragon! I just replied sorry no thanks!
