This past few weeks we are getting more and more people who are either downsizing and either can't take their reps or they can't afford them. I didn't actually think about the effect it would have but wow!!!! Has anyone else experienced this?

This is a controversial topic so please keep it friendly!

Euthanasia, the act of killing of hopelessy sick or injured, is believed by some people that the act shouldn't be performed at all regardless of the circumstances. Others feel if its done humanely and to end suffering then it's ok as its part of our role as reptile keepers/ pet owners.

I was talking to someone the other day about Euthanasia of reptiles and they mentioned that rather than go to the vets to put the sick animal ...

Had a guy on the fone who wanted to rehome the iggy we have for his 3 yr old daughter WTF????? He saw the ad on RFUK and it clearly explains what the iggy is like but he has kept tegus and monitors so he knows his stuff and just ideal a 5yr old iggies is LOL. I just told him what damage an iggy can do and refused point blank. Then he said well I was looking for a bearded dragon!!!! Since when did an iggy become the same as a bearded dragon! I just replied sorry no thanks!

I went down to CTHD this morning to meet up with a buddy of mine. He hand crafted a knife for me. Not only was it beautiful and wonderfully made, but part of the purchase price he turned around and put right back into the charity that my club raises money for.

A friend of mine just came back from a holiday to Vegas and was in this hotel. They are in a massive enclosure and every few hours 2 blokes go in and see if they want to play. Would you want to 'play' with the lions?

Thats only 1 hotel,there's dolphins in another,sharks in another.

Late last night we got a call from a desparate man in Leeds who had trapped a snake in his window by the tail and needed help urgently as the RSPCA wouldn't come out to deal with the snake as it wasn't urgent???? The guy had a phobia of snakes and so did his daughter, who's bedroom it had come from. She also had MS so was panick stricken at the thought of a snake in her room and unable to get away from it fast enough. The snake didn't belong to the guy, it was making its way out of his house ...

toilet roll tubes, flower pots, margarine pots. to make them look more decrative you could glue stones on them.

for substrate you could use garden leaves and freeze them before you use them to kill parasites and germs.

I've been doing alot of research on trapdoor spiders, I love everything about them. I realise I won't see them very often (if at all ) and I realise they have a nasty bite too !!!

I just wondered whether there's anybody on here that actually keeps them or has hands-on experience with them? I've only ever seen one on sale and it was easily 3 years ago in my local pet shop but apart from that I've never seen any for sale. Can anyone take on a 5 yr old male green iguana that is aggressive by tail whipping etc. I have had a lady ring me who desparately needs help, she is sick and on dialasis and her boyfriend has left her and dumped the iggy onto her. She can't clean the iggy out and just throws food at him as she is fears the iggy. The iguana is in the Burnley area in Lancs.

I call any Friday that's a feeding day for the reptiles, "Payday" ever since the movie, Dave, where Kevin Kline says, "Well, today is Friday, and we all know that (and then everyone chimes in together) Everyone gets paid on Friday".

So payday, feeding day, Friday, it is.

I know there's a lot of algae. I know there's too much sun light. I know there's not enough aeration. I'm working on it. But pardon the mess and enjoy the pictures.
