Cane Toads Kill Five Dogs In A Week

PETS are increasingly falling victim to the beastly cane toad.

The Northern Territory News has learnt at least five dogs have died after chomping on one of the ugly creatures in the Top End this week.

One was a small Jack Russell whose owner says died &quot;within five minutes''.

And vets have said they are seeing an influx of dogs - and some cats - that have been affected by a toad's lethal toxin.

The report submitted to the Uttar Pradesh government yesterday said the toxin was found in the tilapia fish, also consumed by people in Bengal and other states in the east.

The reptiles died in three districts in south-western Uttar Pradesh and two districts of Madhya Pradesh — the Chambal wildlife sanctuary spans both states and the ...</description>

It should be an obvious rule - don't try to have your picture taken with a crocodile by waving fish bait at it.

As this startled tourist discovered, it won't work. And it annoys the crocodile.

The 12ft beast launched itself from the aptly named South Alligator River in Northern Territory, Australia, and tried to dine on Israeli backpacker Novon Mashiah.

February 11, 2008—An illustration shows a newfound &quot;mini pterodactyl,&quot; which lived in the canopies of ancient gingko forests in what is now China about 120 million years ago.

The sparrow-size Nemicolopterus crypticus, whose discovery was announced this week by Chinese and Brazilian scientists, is one of the smallest pterosaurs known.
