We all get told about different substrates that there are available and what is best, but what do you use for your reptiles?

Have you ever experienced problems with your reptiles that have been a direct result of the substrate?

Depending on the creature. Calci-sand for the beardies has never let me down. Not so much for the white lip frog - don't know why. Never would get off the glass and sit on the sand. EVER. Dunno.

Lizards seemed to like it, too. If it gets eaten, it's not a threat.

I use cocobrick for the tarantula, blue tongues and waterdragon, playsand for the beardies, aspen for all the snakes except the rainbows and royals who get rainforest substrate!
Never really been a fan of astroturf.
I use newspaper for quarentine vivs, if any of my beasts get ill and when I put the blue tongues together for breeding.
I think calcisand is fine but reptisand is less dusty. I'm a big fan of savannah beech chips but aspen is cheaper so I tend to go with that as my vivs are many!
I hate astroturf.
Never really had a problem with any, though coco can be a bit sticky for frogs and the like.
Bam- Your froggy probably would find the sand to drying!
