Oh yak.

I take it they are using the maggots for medical purposes (like leaches) as i am struggling to think that maybe they are there as an infestation!

O`no. These flies lay their eggs in warm sweaty parts of the body region and then when they hatch burrow in under the skin.
I spent a little time in the bush and this is reality.

Yuk! I have heard that but never seen anything like that video.

These chaps bed themselves under the skin and the best way to eliminate these critters is to wipe some vaseline on to the lump. It suffocates the maggot and then it can be pushed out like a pimple in a day or two.

It’s sad to see the cattle with these critters all over them.
