| Late last night we got a call from a desparate man in Leeds who had trapped a snake in his window by the tail and needed help urgently as the RSPCA wouldn't come out to deal with the snake as it wasn't urgent???? The guy had a phobia of snakes and so did his daughter, who's bedroom it had come from. She also had MS so was panick stricken at the thought of a snake in her room and unable to get away from it fast enough. The snake didn't belong to the guy, it was making its way out of his house though. So we got ready to make the hours drive to Leeds to help. When we got to Leeds they had roads works in the centre and by the time we arrived at this guys house it was 12.45am. When we got there the guy shown us the snake in the window... it was the bedroom window on the first floor. Obviously the snake was in great pain and very distressed, but we freed it and bagged it until we got home. It was 2am before we finally got home. The snake doesn't appear to be too badly injured considering but we will have to see what the vet says. | |

| It was leaving the house and they trapped it? Why not just let it leave?
People are funny sometimes.

| Just got back from the vets. His spine is broken but has sensation at the end of the tail. Where the break is and the swelling from being trapped means we have to wait and see if his bowels have been affected or not. So we are waiting to see if he can pass any faeces. If he can't then it will mean he will have to be put to sleep. The vet has bandaged him up for support and given him a pain killing injection. I really feel for this poor snake.
I am also very pissed with the RSPCA for not attending to this poor snake, if it was a cat trapped in the window they would of been there like a shot! Just glad we could help despite the hour of night and the distance we travelled.
