Rescued Poorly Burm Empty
PostSubject: Rescued Poorly Burm   Rescued Poorly Burm EmptySun Aug 03, 2008 1:54 pm

On Friday evening we collected this poorly burm that was advertised on another forum as free to good home as he had a respiratory infection. With Riley's and Nerys' help I was given the lads details and we arranged to collect straight away. Saturday morning we took the burm to the vets and is being treated for RI and the worsed case of mites I have ever seen. He also has a small lump on his back but we are unsure what it is, so a close eye is being kept upon it.
So at the vets he had an injection of anti biotics and will be repeated Monday. I am nebulising him with F10 twice daily and bathing him daily also as he is dehydrated.
The burm is a lovely snake and hasn't once objected to his care either from the vet or myself. And some good news is that he has eaten today. Rescued Poorly Burm 3521

He's doing really well Tilly. He's responding to the anti-biotics and obviously the nebulising is helping. I think the mite have cleared up, but he's due to shed anytime soon so I will be able to tell then properly. You know even with him in shed he's a gem to handle. Sure he is hissy but doesn't bother when we take him the vets for his jabs or anything. Today he has his 4th shot of anti-biotics. We have to go back Friday and Sunday and then the vet will see how he is doing.

**UPDATE**

Ok tomorrow will be the tenth day of him being on anti-biotics (He had the last shot yesturday at the vets), he's be nebulised during this time with F10 and now shows no signs of RI. Will be continuing with the nebuliser for a few more days however to be on the safe side but he's looking mightily fine.
