The Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre Bolton Needs Help

Fred Dibnah's Aveling Traction Engine is up for sale via auction by Cheffins next month (July 2010). No date has been confirmed as of yet (so this will be amended if possible) but we expect the sale to go ahead the 3rd week of July 2010

Our aim is to get every fan of the great Fred Dibnah MBE to donate just £1.00 or more in an attempt of bring Fred's Traction Engine back home where it belongs at The Fred Dibnah's Heritage Centre ( Fred & Sheila's marital home). Confirmation can be obtained if necessary by contacting Leon or Jan to ensure this is a genuine fundraiser and that it is much needed (the new owners of Fred's place) at the web site listed on this page.

If we can get 250 thousand of Fred's fans to pay just £1.00 then we stand a good stead of bringing home Fred's engine, but we can't do it without your help!!!

We have no choice but to ask Fred's fans for help as Leon & Jan have put their whole life savings into this project.

It was heart breaking what happened at the untimely death of Fred and concerning Fred's will when the engines was removed from Fred's eastate. A very sad state of affairs but YOU can make all the difference now as we don't have much time to raise what funds that are necessary to acheive this goal.

This was Fred's dream to have a Heritage Centre, he did apply for planning permission whilst he was still with us but sadly this all came to late. Now let's make Fred's wishes come true!!!

Should we fail to bring home Fred's Engine home then we can assure you every penny donated will go towards making the Heritage Centre a great success as there are many years of work to bring it anywhere near up to scratch as thieves vandalized the place several times and stole Fred's belongings whilst the house was left empty during Probate.
