Been bitten? What snake gave you the worst bite?

Leading on from another thread, I was just wondering what species of snake you've been bitten by and which bite was the worst?

I have been bitten by corns (Mainly hatchlings that thought they were 16 foot long), a couple of baby boas got me, not a snake but an alligator lizard had hold of my finger too last year but my worst bite was from an adult royal, it seemed to bleed for ages !!!

My first bite was from my first snake.. a garter snake. But my worse was from Rosy my 2.5yr old boa. It was my own fault. After feeding her in her feeder tub, I tried to take her out too soon and she thought my had was dinner. I bled like a b*tch and was badly bruised afterwards. But still love her to bits!

Worst actual bite (bite and release) has to be Dave. Worst bite where the snake held on is my 2 foot something florida blue Garter snakes called gnasher, she swallowed my middle finger past the bottum nuckle and was held fast for over 15 mins, even water dunking didn't make her let go, she had to basicley regurge my finger in the end, and kept half my finger nail.

THAT WAS PAINFUL.

I got some piccys somewhere for some of the bites i've had, just need to find which usb stick their on now and i'll post some of them.

Is it something garter snakes do when they bite or what? I remember mine wouldn't let go either and i did the water dunking too lol. But i did keep my finger nail lol.

Has anyone ever tried using vinegar to get a snake to release its bite? I heard it works but I'm lucky enough never to have had a snake hang on

I must taste bad because they let go straight away

Ive also heard of using whisky but i think I'd rather drink that.

Nope, not my boa in the pic, but it's an adult male around 6.5 foot long, thats why Dave hurts when he bites, lol.

As to the Garter snakes, i think its just a trait they have, she done that twice to me now, but only took the nail once (was a crack in it after doing some woodwork which was sore enough to start with, she just took it off lol).

God, thats what i call a bad bite. Glad things are ok and you pulled through and are here to tell the tale and share the piccy's. It makes you think tho doesn't it, a bite from a corn or a boa is nothing in comparison to a bite from a Cape cobra. Cheers Mate for sharing

The funny thing about this is that the Cape Cobra died a couple of days later.

Maybe it was something he ate?

Didn’t mean to take center stage with this thread people. Non-venomous critters bite me somewhat regular either by me making stupid mistakes when feeding or when rescuing and then taking shortcuts.

Its all a learning curb as we acquire experience due to our mistakes. These animals are usually some what unpredictable and can surprise the unwary.

Well nothing compared to a cobra bite, but I did get tagged in the eye by a common boa. She was around 7feet and, unknown to me at the time, in shed. one of her teeth got the white of my eye and another went through my eyelid into my eye! I saw my eye bleed which was horrible.
Had quite a few bites from smaller snakes.
Oh and tilly.. I got bitten by a bosc once..... that hurt more than most of the snake bites I've had!

it was I guess, I was lucky it was only the white of my eye. The worst of it was the black eye from the impact and I had a zombie eye for a week.
It was funny going into casualty cos they didn't believe me at first then loads of different doctors kept coming into to look at the girl with the snake bite to her eye!
I was off work for a few days but when I went back in she had shed and we made friends, carefully, wearing safety goggles:)
