Letting Down Your Guard Empty
PostSubject: Letting Down Your Guard   Letting Down Your Guard EmptyFri Jan 18, 2008 7:26 pm

I need to remind myself every once in a while that these things are nasty mean. I saw some floating week old meat in the ponfd and went in with a stick, a net and a grabbers and reached out across the front of a couple of napping caiman to try and grab the meat.

Yup, he awoke and snarled and growled and puffed himself up and bellowed.

And, yes, I jumped!

Didn't get bit, but it reminded me that I need to always remember that I need to keep my guard up. I cannot get complacent, because that's how accidents happen.

Just figured I could put it out there for others to use as a reminder as well.

I believe that it was me feeding the other snakes and then wiping my hand across my face that caused the snake in the eye, so it's complacency that causes these things and by no means make it the animal's fault.
