Poor 'Lil Chameleon

A few days ago we got in a sick chameleon. He hadn't eaten anything for over two months, was blind and dehydrated. His owners was advised to buy him as he would make an ideal first reptile, so the shop told them. They bought all the equipment and a book, as they wanted everything right. Within the first two months he started to go down hill. They took him to the vets and the vet gave them drops for his eyes, critcal care formula, electrolytes and a syringe. They tried their best with this little guy but finally realised they couldn't do anything for him and brought him here. After intensive care here he finally gave up his fight last night.

poor little thing. chameleons are one of the hardest species of lizard to look after. they need constant attention even when healthy.

Yep thats right love, it's beyond me how the shop advised that they make the ideal first time reptile.

i owned a female chameleon she lived till she was 3yrs 6month old. she was a heavy egg layer and i couldnt afford to get a male to stop her laying.
