| i had a grey rat for about 10 years as a kid what i gave to a friend when i got married as my wife is from Brazil and i emigrated there. 10 years on and we r living in the uk. my youngest daughter now wants a snake. My wife doesn't like the idea of feeding mice to the snake so i'm looking for a snake that mabe eats fish or insects. It would still need to be pretty hardy has anyone got any ideas. | |

| Corn Snakes are not fussy and are able to absorb some amount of miss management relatively well. | |

| JAmes, I would say a corn snake would be a great first time snake, however seeing as your Mrs is unhappy about the mice thing, you either, have to get a snake that will eat thawed mice, or, get a snake that eats something else, however I have to say that egg eaters can be difficult to maintain should you not have the correct eggs, also the fish eating snakes sounds like a better plan, but they have more specific needs, and requires a bit more guidance from an experienced keeper.
