right before i start writing this i will say that my knowledge on this topic is limited i wanted to put this as a general rule when breeding morph and hets

ok so when you have two snakes that you want to breed there can be many outcomes depending on the morphs and whether or not the snakeis het for anything,

so the basic rules are if you breed -

same morph to same morph the outcome should be 100% visuable babies

morph to normal = 50% visuals and 50% hets

het to het = 25% visuals, 25% normals and 50% hets

het to normal = 50% hets and 50% normals but as you cant tell which is which then all the offspring are classed as possible 50% hets,

as an example i will use albino royals that lay 4 eggs in a clutch

albino - albino = 4 albinos

normal - albino = 2 albinos and 2 100% het albino (normal in flesh)

100% het to 100% = 1 albino, 1 normal and 2 hets

100% het to normal = 4 poss 50% hets

i'm sure some one with more knowledge on this will be able to correct any mistakes i have made but feel free to add your veiws,

as for multiple hets dont go there as i dont have a clue

as far as I can see that is right, though just to hight light that this is %'s. It is possible to breed say normal to albino and get all albino! what is written very well by squaddie79 is the average ratio! make sense?
like the coin flip, technically if you flip a coin it lands heads 50% of the time and tails the other. however you can flip it 100 times and get heads 90 times and tails 10. but over say 1 million flips it would be 50:50....

when the albino to normal morphs breed you get all normals, this is because the albino gene is recessive, so needs the albino allele (gene) from both parents to show the albino colour.

so a albino to normal would give you 4 normals all 100% het for albino.

and breeding the hets back to each other gives you a 1 in 4 change of albinos (stastically)

also forgot to say if you had a albino crossing with a 100% het for albino.

then your outcome would be 50/50

alot of people assume it would be 75%albinos but this is wrong as the albino will always give the albino gene but the het albino had a 50/50 chance to give albino or normal.

and like is said there has to be the albino gene from both parents to be a visual albino

hope this helps. :)

lol cool cool. yeah ovo for things like the spider pattern in ball pythons where you dont need 2 of the gene to see it, its a differnet story, then theres co dom for things like blzzard corns ect :) sorry lol
